POSITION Summary

Fraser Academy (FA) is a non-profit co-educational day school serving students in grades 1-12 with dyslexia and language-based learning differences. Renowned for its Independent Day School (Grades 1–12) and expanding outreach and teacher training centre, FA is a recognized leader in dyslexia education across North America. 

The Opportunity

The ideal candidate is an experienced educational leader currently serving as a Head of School or equivalent in a post-secondary environment with at least five years in senior leadership. They will bring a track record of successful organizational and academic leadership, a collaborative leadership style, and the ability to engage and inspire diverse stakeholders around Fraser Academy’s mission to provide unparalleled support and education for students with dyslexia.

The Role

Reporting directly to the Board of Directors, the Head of School (Head) is the senior leader responsible for the overall performance, culture, and strategic direction of Fraser Academy. This role calls for a visionary, student-centered leader who embodies FA’s mission and values, demonstrating a deep commitment to educational and remedial excellence for students with dyslexia. The Head plays a key role in leading the school’s journey of growth, innovation, and inclusion—ensuring a positive, high-performing learning environment for students, staff, and families.

As the primary liaison to the parent community and a visible leader within the school, the Head is responsible for fostering strong relationships and ensuring mission alignment across all areas of the school. This includes active involvement in admissions, advancement, and marketing, supporting both enrollment and community engagement. The Head works closely with the Executive Team to deliver on strategic priorities, including leading the school through a campaign for a new facility and future strategic planning.

The Head also oversees school operations, including financial planning, budgeting, human resources, risk management, and resource allocation. They collaborate with the Finance Committee on tuition and enrollment targets, ensuring responsible fiscal stewardship.
